Osimhen not for sale amid Europe, Saudi interests

Turkish giants Galatasaray are not ready to entertain any offers for star striker Victor Osimhen, despite growing interest from clubs in Europe and Saudi Arabia.

Osimhen has emerged as a potential transfer target for Barcelona and Arsenal, with Arsenal’s sporting director, Andrea Berta, reportedly meeting with the Turkish club’s management last weekend.

The 27-year-old has been in prolific form for Galatasaray, and his consistent performances have fuelled long-standing speculation about a move to the Premier League over the past three summer transfer windows.

While Berta is said to have travelled to Turkey for talks with Galatasaray president Dursun Özbek, Barcelona are also understood to be preparing a bid in the region of €100m for the Nigerian forward.

After a successful loan spell, during which he led the club to a domestic double, Galatasaray signed him permanently from Napoli for €75m

The club have reportedly placed a €150m valuation on the player, though sources in Turkey suggest this figure is intended to ward off potential suitors.

“Victor Osimhen has interest from Europe and Saudi Arabia; however, there is no official offer so far. Galatasaray are not considering a sale, and Osimhen has no intention of leaving. He is happy at Galatasaray. Okan Buruk is building next season’s plans around him,” Turkish journalist Arda Özkurt said via Peşindeyiz Galatasaray.
