NIGERIAN WORKERS SUSPEND SHUTDOWN OF AVIATION SECTOR – KEYAMO

Nigeria’s minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has announced that aviation workers have suspended the plan to shut down the country’s aviation sector from Monday.

Keyamo disclosed this in a statement on his account on Sunday.

His comment comes as workers unions, had issued a joint statement dated August 8, 2025, announcing a planned withdrawal of service to demand improved remuneration.

However, in an update on the planned shutdown, Keyamo said the unions, in a joint statement, had agreed to suspend the action to engage the government.

Keyamo said he would work with the unions to resolve all their demands one after the other.

Technical and Recreational Services Employees (AUCPTRE) issued a joint statement suspending the strike.
