Central Eagles, Southern Sharks record Super League wins

Matchday two of the Nigeria Super League delivered dramatic finishes at the TBS Cricket Oval on Sunday, as Central Eagles opened their campaign with a nervy one-run win over Eastern Elephants while Southern Sharks bounced back from their opening-day defeat.

The most dramatic game of the tournament so far came in match three as Central Eagles held their nerve to secure a thrilling one-run victory over Eastern Elephants in a contest that went down to the final delivery.

After being sent in to bat, Central Eagles posted a strong total of 157/4 in 20 overs, thanks largely to an outstanding innings from wicketkeeper-batsman Selim Salau.

The right hander smashed 83 off 61 balls, hitting four boundaries and seven sixes to anchor the innings.

Following the early dismissal of Happy Bagshaw, Mohammed Moshood and Emmanuel Boniface Oche steadied the innings before Useni Prosper added the finishing touches with a blistering unbeaten 22 off just nine deliveries.
