TINUBU ECONOMIC POLICIES HAVE IMPOVERISHED NIGERIANS, SAYS DELTA GOV

Governor of Delta State, Sheriff Oborevwori, has faulted the economic policies of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration as those that have unleashed unprecedented hunger, poverty and mass unemployment on Nigerians and turned Nigeria into the world’s poverty capital.

Oborevwori specifically argued that the probable gains of Tinubu’s policies on petroleum subsidy removal and floating of the naira had been swallowed by naira devaluation and galloping inflation.

In a statement by the Executive Assistant on New Media, Felix Ofou, on Monday, the Delta governor said it was high time the Tinubu government embraced policies that would stem poverty and suffering.

Oborevwori’s comments came against the backdrop of an assertion by the former Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, that the President’s economic policies had led to increased federal allocation to state and local governments, rising economic growth rates, declining imports, higher exports, and higher incomes for farmers.”
