The Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) has announced that the 2025 edition of the NWFL Championship will take place in Abia State,South-East Nigeria, from September 11 to 21, 2025.
The Championship, which is the second tier of the women’s football league in the country, continues with the NWFL’s 2025 calendar following the successful 2024/25 Premiership Super 6 held earlier this year in Ikenne.
Confirming the development on Monday, August 18, 2025, Chief Operating Officer of the NWFL, Modupe Shabi, said a total of 17 clubs have registered for this year’s edition and will be drawn into four groups ahead of the kick-off.
