FG SAYS TINUBU ON TOP OF NIGERIA-US DIPLOMATIC TENSION

The Federal Government has urged Nigerians to remain calm amid the ongoing diplomatic tension between Nigeria and the United States stemming from recent comments by President Donald Trump.

The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, made the appeal during a courtesy visit to Jigawa State Governor, Umar Namadi, in Dutse on Monday.

According to a statement by the minister’s Special Assistant on Media, Rabiu Ibrahim, Idris reassured the nation.

Tension heightened last month after US President Donald Trump posted on his Truth Social platform that Christianity in Nigeria faced an “existential threat” from radical Islamist groups.

The Nigerian Government swiftly rejected the claims, with President Tinubu reaffirming Nigeria’s commitment to religious freedom and the protection of all faiths.
