President of the International Table Tennis Federation Africa, Wahid Oshodi, has expressed surprise at his nomination for the Sports Personality of the Year category at the sixth edition of the Sportsville Special Recognition Awards.
Oshodi, who also servs as the Vice President of the World Table Tennis said he did not expect the recognition, noting that he has always carried out his duties without seeking attention.
“Honestly, it was a big surprise to me when I got the letter nominating me as the Sports Personality of the Year. Huge surprise because I have always done my job quietly without attracting unnecessary attention.
“But when an award comes from a reputable organisation like Sportsville, one has to be grateful for the recognition.
