Troops of Operation FANSAN YANMA have successfully foiled a bandit attack on Sabon Garin Kwargaba village in Wurno Local Government of Sokoto State, killing several of the assailants in a fierce exchange of fire.
According to media report, that the attack occurred at about 11:30 p.m. on October 7, when a large number of bandits armed with sophisticated weapons stormed the village and began shooting indiscriminately.
Troops stationed at the area were immediately mobilised and engaged the attackers in a prolonged gun duel, forcing them to retreat into the nearby forest with heavy casualties.
