A popularly Kannywood actor, Alhaji Mato Yakubu Nata’ala, has appealed for financial assistance as he continues his battle with cancer, a condition he said he has lived with for nearly two years.
In a video shared widely on social media, the actor, who became popular for his role in the Dadin Kowa series , revealed that he has been receiving treatment for the illness for the past one year and seven months.
Mr. Yakubu admitted that the treatment has drained his resources despite support from friends, clerics, and colleagues in the film industry.
The veteran actor, who hails from Yobe State, once told BBC Hausa in 2021 that he started acting in 1986 and has written more scripts than he has featured in as an actor.
