Bandits have reportedly killed two people and kidnapped an unknown number of persons in another attack in the Sabuwa Local Government Area of Katsina State on Thursday.
However, the state police command says in a fierce gun battle with the bandits, it foiled a kidnap attempt and rescued 13 victims in the process while others were whisked away by the bandits.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Abubakar Sadiq, in a statement made available to newsmen late Thursday in Katsina, said suspected bandits armed with weapons such as AK-47 rifles, shooting sporadically, attacked Maibakko village, Sabuwa LG and kidnapped the residents.
