NIGERIAN PLASTIC ACTION PROJECT WRAPS UP2024 IN ABUJA, EMPOWERING COMMUNITIES FOR PLASTIC RECYCLING AND WASTE MANAGEMENT

The Nigerian Plastic Action Project, an initiative led by Clean Technology Hub to promote climate action, energy efficiency, and waste management, marked the close of its 2024 program today in Abuja. This initiative was designed to make a tangible impact on reducing plastic pollution and encouraging environmental sanitation across Nigeria’s capital.

Focused on four key communities—Mpape, Kabusa-Lokogoma, Nyanya, and Kubwa—the project provided training and resources to empower residents with sustainable waste management and recycling practices. In a ceremony celebrating the project’s achievements, representatives from each community shared their experiences, highlighting the project’s role in improving waste disposal and fostering financial opportunities through plastic recycling.

Mrs. Godiya Danjuma, a community representative from Nyanya, spoke to reporters about the transformative impact of the initiative. She explained that the Nigerian Plastic Action Project had not only educated her community on effective waste management but also introduced new ways for residents to generate income by recycling plastic.
